Keeping Well S E London

Social Care Workforce Support & Wellbeing Initiative

SLAM – the South London & Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust will be a familiar name to you. We at LCAS, the London Care & Support Forum are working with SLAM on an ambitious initiative to offer a range of free and easily accessible support for members of your staff teams feeling anxious, stressed, or depressed.

The physical and mental wellbeing of us all is important in maintaining resilience, maintaining staff retention and keeping down absenteeism, both costly and time-consuming tasks for any organisation. The pandemic has heightened all of these issues, making maintaining & supporting the wellbeing of your staff even more vital.

This initiative is focussing upon mental wellbeing, often a difficult area for many to talk about, we are aiming to share information to as many people as possible. Can you as managers help us with this and so support your staff? We want to find out where the workforce in Social Care goes and what they do with their concerns about their mental health.

There will be a range of opportunities for you and your colleagues to interact with the initiative. We will be asking you and your teams interesting questions; we will have various speakers on webinars and a WhatsApp Group to share further thoughts. If we need a little more time, then we can offer to cover replacement staff costs. We aim to talk with a cross section of all those working in adult social care, at each level and in each type of service.

The following 6 London Boroughs are covered, Bexley, Bromley, Greenwich, Lambeth, Lewisham and Southwark.
